Bo Derek was once mythically know as the ‘Perfect 10.’ I know what you’re saying, boys and girls, ‘Who’s Bo Derek?’ Thirty years ago, she was like the Paris Hilton of her day -- only with talent.

In the South Bay, we have another Perfect 10, a Palos Verdes left-hander named Nate Halverson, who improved his record to 10-0 after a Southern Section Division II first-round win over Dos Pueblos. Halverson threw a complete game, striking out seven for the Sea Kings (26-5).

You know, in the South Bay, there’s also a Perfect 12 -- Kyle Petter who improved to 12-0 for West Torrance (26-3) after a first-round victory over Hueneme Friday night.

So, what I’m rooting for -- as should you -- is a Halverson-Petter battle in the finals. It would be a battle for perfection.
