Track and field: Aliimatafitafi has just enough to win girls’ shot put

Stephanie Aliimatafitafi of Paramount put the shot four inches farther than Michelle Anumba of Los Osos to win the the Division I title Saturday at the Southern Section-Toyota Championships at Mt. SAC.

Aliimatafitafi, the section leader, has thrown 43 feet 9 inches this season, but her winning mark Saturday was 42 feet 1/2 inch. Anumba had a mark of 41-8 1/2.

Brooke Shepard of Arroyo Grande won in Division II, Sydney Haydell in Division III and Saibra Noel of Paraclete in Division IV with a mark of 38-4.
