Compton Dominguez ran the fastest time in the state this season in the boys’ 400-meter relay at the Southern Section-Toyota championships Saturday at Mt. SAC.

Dominguez clocked 40.99 seconds, which lowered the standard of 41.36 set by Long Beach Poly at the Mt. SAC Invitational on April 18. Poly took second in the Division I race at 41.41. Dominguez’s time matched the fifth-fastest time in the U.S. this year.
