Track and field: Poly’s Hughes wins boys’ 200 by 2/10 of a second

Long Beach Poly’s Joey Hughes, pictured, beat Corona Santiago’s Rodney Storrs by two-hundredths of a second Saturday in the Division I boys’ 200-meter race during the Southern Section-Toyota Championships at Mt. SAC. Hughes finished in 21.25 and Storrs in 21.27.

The big winner of the day in the boys 200, however, was Adam Long of St. Bernard, who won the Division IV title with a time of 21.20. Tommy Curry of Riverside North won in Division II and Randall Carroll of Cathedral won in Division III.
