Nick Ross of Vista Murrieta and Anthony McClendon of Colony won Division I and II titles in the high jump Saturday at 6 feet 8 inches, but it was was Harrison Steed of JSerra who turned in the only 7-foot performance of the afternoon at Mt. SAC in the Southern Section-Toyota Championships.

Steed was six inches better than his nearest competitor in Division IV. Only a sophomore, he had also reached 7-0 at the Triton Invitational, making him one of only three 7-foot jumpers in the state. The others are Ross, and Poway’s Tynan Murray of the San Diego Section, who leads the state at 7-0 1/2.
