Baseball: Anaheim Canyon, Los Alamitos underway in Division I

I like to refer to this round of the Southern Section-Toyota baseball playoffs as the upset round.

The top teams are sent on the road after playing their opening-round games at home, and they usually throw their No. 2 pitcher.

Such is the case here at Anaheim Canyon, where the Comanches are hosting top-seeded Los Alamitos in a Division I game.

Canyon brought back its ace, left-hander Gabe Garcia, who threw a complete game Friday against Royal. Los Alamitos is countering with right-hander Kyle Simon.

Garcia walked two batters in the first inning, but also struck out two. Simon beaned the second batter, but induced an inning-ending double play.
