Boys’ volleyball: Santa Margarita in deep against Sailors

Santa Margarita may have spent itself in the first two games of its Southern Section-Toyota Division I volleyball semifinal Wednesday at Newport Harbor.

After losing the first game, 25-22, and giving up six of the last seven points of the second game in a 25-20 loss, the Eagles have fallen behind 7-1 in the early going of Game 3.

Coach Jeff Uhrig just called a timeout. And for good reason. The match is slipping away and there’s no margin for error.
