City Council votes to save LA36 from budget cuts

There’s great news for City Section sports: LA36, which has been televising the section’s sporting events for more than five years, has been saved from being shut down because of budget cuts.

The Los Angeles City Council voted to retain its funding, ignoring a recommendation from the mayor’s office to take away all funding for LA36.

It means another year of high school sports from the City Section will be aired in 2008-09. That’s great news and great exposure for the local athletes.
