For La Palma Kennedy, redemption is nearing ... if a rain delay doesn’t arrive first.

In a steady drizzle, the Fightin’ Irish lead, 2-0, heading into the fourth inning of their Southern Section-Toyota Division II quarterfinal against Long Beach Wilson.

Allee Allen, the left-handed ace with a 17-2 record, has thrown three shutout innings. Kimberly Frazier hit an RBI double in the first and Jamia Reid knocked in a run on an infield hit in the second.

Meanwhile, Linzy Rother has settled down, pitching a scoreless third for Wilson, which beat Kennedy in a tournament game last month.
