Softball: Norco’s best scoring chance ends in a double play

An error, a hit batter and infield single by No. 9 hitter Kellie Frye brought Norco pitcher Teagan Gerhart to the plate with one out and a chance to finally break through against Hart pitcher Destiny Rodino.

But the Norco pitcher hit sharply back to Rodino, who began a 1-2-3 double play to end the inning.

Norco has stranded two runners on base in each of the last two innings, and has left runners on base in each of the last four.

Going into the bottom of the seventh, it’s 0-0 in this Southern Section-Toyota Division I quarterfinal.
