Track and field: Mother Nature delaying action at City finals

Arrived at Birmingham High for the City Section Championships a bit early Thursday, about an hour and a half early for the track events, just in time to take cover from the inclement weather heading our way.

Believe it or not, it’s raining... Thundering too...

Minutes ago, meet director Hal Harkness suspended the girls’ pole vault, at least temporarily. No sense in putting the athletes in danger. My guess is we’ll get things started once again after these rain clouds pass. Stay tuned for updates.
