Baseball: West Torrance’s lead is looking, well, grand

The ball just landed over the left-center field fence -- grand slam! -- launched by Aaron DeGuire, and host West Torrance has taken a 5-4 lead in the third inning of the Southern Section-Toyota Division II quarterfinals againt El Toro.

It wasn’t long ago that the Chargers peppered West Torrance starter, Kyle Petter, for six hits and four runs. It also wasn’t long ago that it looked as if El Toro could pull off the upset. Things have changed fast.
