Track and field: Aliimatafitafi improves in shot, Richmond wins

Stephanie Aliimatafitafi of Paramount increased her season-best in the shot put by about four inches and won the girls’ shot put at 44 feet 1 3/4 inches. She came into the day ranked third in the state at 43-9. She is still third, though, despite improving her mark.

Also in the field events, Tara Richmond of Long Beach Poly won the high jump in 5 feet 7 inches and the triple jump in 39-7.
