Boys’ volleyball: Mira Costa cuts Newport Harbor’s lead in half

Ian Satterfield and Steven Mochalski breathed life into Mira Costa’s championship hopes, helping the Mustangs emerge with a 25-20 victory in Game 3 Saturday in the Southern Section-Toyota Division I championships at Cal State Dominguez Hills.

Newport Harbor still leads, 2-1, in this best-of-five match. It held a 15-14 lead before Satterfield, Mochalski and Dylan Kordic did the bulk of the damage to close it out. Mira Costa led, 21-19, when it scored the next three points, and won when Kyle Caldwell’s serve went wide.
