Tennis: City finals have provided some good action

With four matches going on at the same time, things have been somewhat crazy over here at the City Section individual semifnals at the Balboa Sports Complex in Encino. But, for those who have been patiently waiting for some results, here they are:

Dennis Mrktchian of SOCES defeated North Hollywood’s Dillon Klincke, 7-5, 6-3 in one semifinal singles match. The freshman will move on to Monday’s finals against the winner of the match between Taft’s Josh Tchan and SOCES’ Ken Mrktchian, Dennis’ brother. Tchan won the first game, 7-5.

In doubles play, Palisades’ Matt Goodman and Jeremy Shore defeated Taft’s Alex Freeman and Aaron Teitelbaum, 7-6 (7-2), 6-3, in one semifinal and will play Carson’s Andrew Sarawasi and Sammy Macias after their 7-6 (7-4), 6-3, victory over Palisades’ Ren Nielsen and Kyung Choi.
