South Hills’ Derek Klena wiggled out of a mini-jam in the third inning against Sherman Oaks Notre Dame. He had runners on first and second to start the frame but escaped without any damage, getting two fly outs and a strikeout.

Klena has struck out four and yielded three hits and two walks as South Hills leads, 2-0, heading into the fourth inning in the Southern Section-Toyota Division III final Thursday at Dodger Stadium.
