There was Santa Barbara and then there was everybody else at the CIF/SCGA Southern California Regional Thursday in Murrieta.

Led by Andrew Perez’s five-under-par 67 and Jack Perry’s two-under 70, the Dons finished first with an overall team score of five-under 355. Sunny Hills and Fresno Clovis West finished tied for second at 361. La Costa Canyon finished fourth at 366, one spot away from qualifying for Tuesday’s CIF state championships in Santa Maria.

In addition to members of the three teams, the individuals with the six lowest scores who are not members of a qualifying team, also advance to the state finals. Playoffs are currently under way to see who qualifies.
