Baseball: Klena sings national anthem at Dodger Stadium

I would have posted this video of South Hills’ starter Derek Klena singing the national anthem at Dodger Stadium hours ago, but it turns out Chavez Ravine is the black hole of communications.

Klena, who is toying with the idea of enduring Simon Cowell‘s ridicule after high school, did a great job singing our country’s song, and his performance gave me a new appreciation for anthem singers. Just listen to the time delay from voice to loudspeaker to understand what I’m talking about.

Oh, and if Klena does try out for ‘American Idol’ and actually earns the honor to do cheesy Ford commercials, he won’t be the first South Hills alumnus to do so.
