Matt Baker ran into trouble one too many times during Friday’s City Section Small Schools Division title game at USC. The pitcher from Sherman Oaks CES escaped without harm in the second, third and fourth innings, but Maywood tagged him for four runs in the fifth to take a 4-1 lead.
