The Southern Section-Toyota Division III championship game fittingly ended with La Serna pitcher Holly Consterdine striking out a Paloma Valley player.
Consterdine, a senior, finished the game with 10 strikeouts as the Lancers beat the Wildcats, 5-1, to claim their third championship in school history. Consterdine was also 2 for 3 at the plate with two singles. Her batterymate, sophomore Ashley Holmes, was the one with the big bat, however. Holmes, who was 2 for 3, hit a two-run home run in the first inning and then drove in another run in the fifth inning.
