Baseball: Bell has five Lopezes on roster and two runners on base

The City Section Invitational Division championship game is moving along crisply. It’s already in the third inning between Granada Hills and Bell on Saturday morning at Dodger Stadium.

But I’m already bumbling through the game. Bell has five Lopezes on the roster. There’s Carlos, Jose, Eugene, Eduardo and Samir -- three are starting and those would be Eduardo, Jose and Carlos. And the Eagles also have two Delgados -- Pedro and Carlos -- in the starting lineup. Wait a sec, Carlos Delgado? Doesn’t he play for the Mets?

See that, I’m already confused.

By the way, the score is 0-0, but Bell is threatening with two on and one out in the third.
