Foothill League MVP and Hart starter Trevor Bauer has been invited to the Team USA 18-and-under Tournament of Stars trials. He was one of 144 players to be invited for the eight-team, seven-day tournament which runs from June 16-23 in Cary, N.C.

There’s a possibility Bauer could then make the 34-player cut and participate in the national team trials in Phoenix, July 9-17. If he impresses enough coaches by then, he could make the final 18-man roster and represent Team USA in the IBAF World AAA Junior Championships in Edmonton, Canada, from July 25-Aug. 3.

Bauer is going to be playing alongside the best of the best, but he definitely illustrated this season that he’s one of the Southland’s top pitchers. He played an integral role in helping Hart secure the Foothill League title and finished the season with a 0.79 earned-run average and a 12-0 record.
