Football: Another school expresses interest in Upland’s Irabor

The offers keeping rolling in for Osahon Irabor. You can add San Diego St. to the list of potential suitors considering the Aztecs have a scholarship waiting for the 5-foot-11 junior from Upland, who could end up making a trip down South at some point over the next month, or so.

San Diego St. linebackers coach Toby Neinas has been recruiting Irabor since January and the two have built up a good rapport with one another, a fact that must please head coach Chuck Long. The Aztecs should be considered a threat to the other 11 Division I programs in the hunt for his services.

“I have always thought so highly of coach Neinas and his energy in recruiting,’’ Irabor said. ‘We had a great conversation and I enjoyed what he had to tell me about my ability and what SDSU is all about. I feel very positive about the (direction and outlook for the football program).’’
