Baseball: Skipworth is Gatorade national player of the year

Another day, another honor for Riverside Patriot catcher Kyle Skipworth, who will receive the Gatorade national baseball player of the year award today at a ceremony at school.

Skipworth, who set a state record this season with 18 consecutive hits, batted .543 with 47 runs batted in and 13 home runs. He’s expected to be a first-round draft pick.
