Just because the boys’ basketball season ended nearly three months ago doesn’t necessarily mean things have slowed down for Renardo Sidney, especially on the recruiting front. The 6-foot-10 junior from Fairfax is as busy as ever. Keeping in contact with all the Division I programs interested in him is a full-time job.

Louisville, Michigan State, Syracuse and Connecticut have recently joined in the Sydney sweepstakes, according to these quotes from his father. Arizona State, Ohio State, Texas and USC have offered scholarships. Kansas, Memphis and UCLA are a few of the other powerhouses showing interest.

It doesn’t appear as if Sidney has a favorite at this point. But it is reasonable to expect him to narrow his list in the near future, perhaps toward the end of summer after he’s done with travel ball. In the meantime, the courting process figures to continue. Scouts are in love with this kid.
