Baseball: Round 6 of Major League Baseball’s first-year player draft

Graham Johnson, a right-handed pitcher from Westlake High who has committed to Fresno State, was selected by the Florida Marlins on Thursday with the 178th pick overall of the Major League Baseball first-year player draft.

Tyreace House, a sophomore outfielder at College of the Canyons by way of Palmdale High, has been chosen by the Oakland Athletics with pick No. 184. Joshua Satin, a graduate of Harvard-Westlake and infielder for California, was selected by the New York Mets with pick No. 194.

That’s it for the draft today. It will resume tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. and continue until it’s over -- when all teams pass on players or the end of Round 50. Stay tuned!
