Baseball: Couple more Southland players selected in Round 12 of draft

Matt Clark, a first baseman from Louisiana State by way of Etiwanda High and Riverside College, was selected by the San Diego Padres with the 375th overall pick of Major League Baseball’s first-year player draft on Friday.

You can catch Clark in action on ESPN this weekend when LSU plays host to UC Irvine in a Super Regional. The winner advances to the College World Series in Omaha.

Guido Fonseca, a right-handed pitcher from Northern Iowa by way of West Covina High and East Los Angeles Collge, was selected by the Cleveland Indians with pick No. 318.
