Baseball: Covina’s Tyler Pill drafted by Rockies in Round 38

Tyler Pill, a right-handed pitcher from Covina High, was chosen in Round 38 by the Colorado Rockies on Friday. Pill, who was named the Valle Vista League co-MVP, was the 1,157th overall selection of the Major League Baseball first-year player draft.

Pill has a scholarship offer from Cal State Fullerton. His brother, Brett, who played for the Titans, was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in 2006.
