Baseball: Crespi closer Gilmartin taken by Padres in Round 31

Sean Gilmartin, who was the closer for Crespi this season, was drafted as an outfielder by the San Diego Padres with the 945th overall selection Friday during Round 31of Major League Baseball’s first-year player draft.

James McCann, a catcher from Dos Pueblos High, was chosen 930th overall by the Chicago White Sox, and Matthew Magill, a right-handed pitcher from Royal, was selected by the Dodgers with pick No. 937.
