Baseball: L.B. Wilson’s Zach Wilson selected in Round 26

With the second selection in Round 26 of Major League Baseball’s first-year player draft Friday, the Pittsburgh Pirates selected Zach Wilson, a third baseman from Long Beach Wilson High, with the 774th overall pick.

Calvin Culver, an outfielder from Los Angeles Pierce College by way of Quartz Hill High, was taken 790th by the Atlanta Braves, and Adam Jorgenson, a right-handed pitcher from Cal State Fullerton by way of La Quinta High, was selected by the Colorado Rockies with pick No. 797.
