Baseball: Round 21 quiet, but three O.C. players taken in Round 22

After nobody from the Southland was taken in Round 21 Friday of the Major League Baseball first-year player draft, three were selected in Round 22.

Justin La Tempa, a right-handed pitcher from Golden West College by way of Huntington Beach High, was the choice of the Arizona Diamondbacks with the 678th overall pick. Cory Arbiso, a right-handed pitcher from Cal State Fullerton by way of Buena Park High, was taken 680th by the New York Yankees, and Bryce Stowell, a right-handed pitcher from UC Irvine by way of La Habra High, was selected by the Cleveland Indians with pick No. 681.
