Baseball: They’re going in threes ... three more drafted in Round 18

Chris McMurray, a catcher from UC Santa Barbara by way of Capistrano Valley High, was selected by the Cincinnati Reds Friday with the 539th overall pick in Round 18 of Major League Baseball’s first-year player draft.

Travis Howell, a catcher from Cal State Long Beach who’s from Northern California, was selected 552nd by the Seattle Mariners. Three picks later, another Dirtbag went off the board when Nick Vincent, a right-handed pitcher for the 49ers from the San Diego area, was selected by his hometown Padres with the No. 555 pick.
