Football: Aliso Niguel’s Bowlin commits to Oregon

It’s been almost a year since this list came out and provided loyal readers of The Times a glimpse at some of the top kickers in the Southland. And I’m imagining most everyone had little or no idea about who Mike Bowlin from Aliso Niguel was back then. Everyone except Division I scouts, of course.

Boston College, LSU and Notre Dame have kept a watchful eye on the 6-foot-2, 180-pound senior for quite some time now. But according to these quotes, it appears that there was something special about Oregon -- so special, in fact, that Bowlin orally committed to the Ducks over the weekend.
