Where are all the college coaches? I’m in the auxiliary gym at Green Valley High watching the sleeper talent of the week.

Ray Penn, a 5-foot-10 senior guard from Richmond, Texas, has made seven three-pointers in the first half for the Houston Superstars and has 29 points in a Reebok Summer Championships game.

Tuesday night, he scored 37 points, tops on the night. And yet, where are the coaches for someone who has good grades?

‘He’s just an unknown kid,’ said his club coach, John Eurey.

Penn finished with 43 points and seven three-pointers in a 93-91 loss to Worldwide Black of Georgia.

He shouldn’t be unknown any longer if coaches are doing their job.
