When Matt Schilz broke his leg last year, in the second game of the season to be exact, things didn’t look very promising for his future. Adding insult to injury -- no pun intended -- was the fact that the 6-foot-2 signal caller from Maranatha had just begun to pique the interest of Division I scouts.

Nearly 11 months later, Schilz is seemingly fully recovered. And a good indication of his good health has been the way he’s thrown the ball this summer during the numerous quarterback camps he’s attended. From the things I’ve heard, he’s received rave reviews from most everyone.

Apparently, Kansas State was one of his biggest supporters around this time last year and recently jumped back on the bandwagon. That was enough to win over Schilz. According to this report, he orally committed to the Wildcats earlier this week despite interest from schools in the Pac-10 Conference.
