Baseball: Drootin ousted as coach at Newbury Park

Scott Drootin, one of the most successful baseball coaches in the San Fernando Valley-Ventura County areas, will not be rehired as coach at Newbury Park, Athletic Director Richard Urias said.
Drootin, who guided the Panthers to a Marmonte League championship in 2005, also directed successful programs at Chaminade and Calabasas. He has coached the Panthers since 2004.
The school will launch a search for his successor.
