Football: Quarterbacks might be wise to stay put

There were numerous quarterbacks switching schools during the spring and summer, and if some had stayed put, they might have gotten their wish -- to start.

Nick Stephens went from Dorsey back to Taft, but he now finds himself as the backup at Taft after Coach Matt Kerstetter selected Bam Goodall as the starter. And it just so happens that Dorsey is in desperate need of a quarterback because Josh Williamson transferred to Cathedral, where he’s now a backup.

One of the few winners in the quarterback demolition derby during the off-season has been Thomas Edwards, who left Sherman Oaks Notre Dame for Van Nuys Grant, where he has become the starter and could help lift the Lancers’ fortunes in the Sunset Six League.
