Football: Garfield takes 21-14 lead over Birmingham

Garfield has scored 21 consecutive points to take a 21-14 lead over Birmingham with 4:56 left. Quarterback Patrick Vargas threw his third touchdown pass of the game, a 33-yarder to Lanny Delgado.
Vargas completed seven consecutive passes in the second half and is eight of 11 in the second half overall. Vargas, who’s listed as 5 feet 5 in the program, has shown great chemistry with his receivers.
If this score holds up, Bulldog fans are going to have lots to celebrate in East Los Angeles, with the City Invitational champion stunning the City Championship Division champion.
