Winning a City championship sure does wonders for attracting new talent. Taft is cleaning up in the transfer game.

Armed with more than 200 open enrollment slots, Taft has picked up three all-star basketball players in DeAndre Daniels from Renaissance, Dominique Evans from Van Nuys and Bryce Jones from View Park Prep.

Jones, a 6-4 junior, scored 33 points in the City small schools final at the Sports Arena. He will have to play JVs this season unless he moves.

Daniels needs to receive a hardship waiver. Evans is eligible immediately.

Don’t expect the Toreadors to lose too many games this season or next.
