Miscues have absolutely killed Birmingham early on in Friday’s game against host Crespi, ranked No. 5 in the Southland by The Times. And if the Patriots continue with the mistakes it could end up being a very long night.

A fumbled snap and a muffed punt gave the Celts great field position on two occasions, the second of which they cashed in when Bryan Bennett passed to Blake Stanton on a 17-yard play to give Crespi a 7-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.
