Football: City final will be a Saturday afternoon game

The City Section Interscholastic Athletic Committee on Monday gave approval to hold the City Championship Division football game on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 13, at the Coliseum to save $15,000 in costs.
The City Invitational final, which has been held at the Coliseum in recent years as part of a doubleheader, will be switched to Friday night, Dec. 12, at a site to be determined.
The Coliseum has been charging $44,500 in rental fees, and budget cutbacks by the Los Angeles Unified School District forced IAC to make changes and hold a single game at the Coliseum.
