Football: Memorial service for Boron player will be Thursday

A memorial service for Boron‘s Vinnie Rodriguez will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the school gym, Bobcats Athletic Director Jim Boghosian said. Rodriguez died Tuesday from head injuries sustained in a game Sept. 12.

Boron’s game against L.A. Ribet Academy on Friday has been moved from Los Angeles to Boron and will start at 7 p.m., Boghosian said. Boghosian said Ribet agreed to move the game so that the Bobcats wouldn’t have to travel the day after the memorial.
