Is it just me, or am I the only one keeping tabs on Trevion Johnson? Come on people, this kid is putting up some mind-boggling numbers... His statistics, in fact, are on par with those of fellow Southland running backs such as Cierre Wood, Anthony Barr, Arthur Burns and Michael Allain.

It’s about time the senior from North Hollywood receives some long overdue recognition, or at least a little love. In three games thus far, Johnson has rushed for 636 yards and scored three touchdowns on 80 carries, a 7.9 average, heading into Friday’s nonleague game against Dorsey.

The fact he’s done so well is even more impressive when considering how few options Johnson has around him, meaning defenses are geared toward stopping him, and only him. Perhaps that explains why North Hollywood has been outscored 135-27 in three lopsided losses.

He rushed for 135 yards on 27 carries against South East, then toted the ball 29 times for 265 yards against Reseda, and finally, finished with 236 yards on the ground in 24 carries against Sylmar. Win or lose, Johnson has been thoroughly impressive and should be acknowledged for his efforts.
