Football: Boyd sets state record in loss

Quarterback James Boyd of L.A. Jordan set a state record for most pass attempts Thursday in a 49-32 loss to Mater Dei.

Boyd completed 36 of 73 passes for 409 yards with three touchdowns and four interceptions.

Jaron Hytche scored four touchdowns for Mater Dei, which trailed, 20-0, in the first quarter.
