Football: Loyola comes up short again

Loyola had two chances on fourth down from the Bishop Amat six-yard line after deciding not to attempt a field goal.

First, quarterback Stephen Rokus was sacked. But the officials called Loyola for a holding penalty and Bishop Amat was called for a face mask, wiping out the play.

Then the Cubs decided to go for it again, but Rokus threw an incomplete pass.

It’s the start of the second quarter, and the Cubs have wasted two golden scoring opportunities in a scoreless game.

Loyola has the ball back again on Bishop Amat’s 40-yard line.
