It’s kind of hard to break into the starting lineup for Oaks Christian. Just look at all the quarterbacks who transferred after Nick Montana arrived.

But the Lions (8-0) are so dominant over their opponents that the reserves are ending up playing as much as the starters.

For the last four games, Montana and running back Malcolm Jones have played a total of three plays in the second half of games.

Oaks Christian plays host to unbeaten Oxnard Santa Clara (8-0) on Friday night on FSN Prime Ticket. Coach Bill Redell has already started a lobbying campaign for the Division III bowl game, deciding this is his best team ever.

But I think it’s going to take a loss by St. Bonaventure to get Oaks Christian a bowl berth, and the Lions will still have to get past Gardena Serra (8-0) to win a Southern Section championship.
