Corona Centennial is an offensive machine. Quarterback Taylor Martinez went 14-of-22 for 221 yards. Running back Arthur Burns ran for 89 yards off 13 carries with a touchdown. Wide receiver Ricky Marvray caught six passes for 109 yards.

Unfortunately for Santiago, the Huskies are also a defensive machine. They’ve held the Sharks to seven yards of passing offense. Santiago’s only highlight is running back Derrick Hawkins, who’s rushed for 61 yards off 11 carries. But seven of those carries were for under 5 yards.

The Huskies led 21-0 after wide receiver Eddie Lopez catches a 23-yard touchdown pass from Taylor Martinez and tacking on the extra point. Martinez ran for a nine-yard touchdown with 5:15 left. Centennial led 28-0 after the extra point. Santiago spent the next drive looking to rebound, but the Sharks had to settle for a 35-yard field goal with 1:33 left to make the score, 28-3.

Interestingly, Santiago attempted an on-sides kick but the Huskies recovered the ball at their own 45-yard line. Seven plays later, Martinez connected with wide receiver Geshun Harris for a 31-yard touchdown with 5.6 seconds left in the half. The extra point made it 35-3.
