There seems to be a misunderstanding or communication error, because some fans of Long Beach Poly and Corona Centennial are under the impression the two teams could meet in the open division of the CIF state football bowl games.

Wrong.

The open division will match the best team in Southern California against its counterpart from Northern California. So the winner of the Pac-5 Division will probably have to battle it out with Centennial to be the SoCal representative.

And the way Sherman Oaks Notre Dame is playing, I’d advise Poly fans to hold off purchasing Home Depot tickets.
