Servite, Orange Lutheran and Mater Dei could find themselves in a three-way tie in the Trinity League standings if the No. 16 Friars defeat No. 13 Bellflower St. John Bosco tonight. Kickoff starts at 7:30 p.m. at Cerritos College.

So how did we end up with a possible three-way tie? Call it the sports transitive property. On Thursday, No. 8 Orange Lutheran (8-2, 4-1) defeated No. 5 Mater Dei (7-3, 4-1). Last month, Anaheim Servite (6-3, 3-1) beat Lutheran. Earlier in the season, Mater Dei won against Anaheim Servite.

If the Braves hold on for a victory tonight against the Friars, Orange Lutheran would win the Trinity League title. Anaheim Servite would be out of the picture with two losses and Orange Lutheran would have the advantage over Mater Dei for winning the head-to-head matchup.

I’ll be there providing quarter-by-quarter updates. So be sure to check out Varsity Times for game coverage.
