Banning received its only break when it forced a fumble on the 16-yard line. Six plays later, Pilots quarterback Mason Napoleon ran in for a 3-yard touchdown with 7:39 left in the third quarter, reducing Crenshaw’s lead to 33-6. Banning tried on a two-point conversion: Napoleon ran an option pitch to Josh Limosnero, who attempted a flea flicker. But the pass was batted down by Crenshaw’s De Anthony Thomas.

The Cougars made sure nothing came out of that touchdown. On the kickoff, Geno Hall made a 89-yard touchdown return for a 39-6 lead. They failed at the 2-point conversion.
